Pop and Jazz Guitar. Chad Volkers has been performing and teaching professionally for 14 years. He is currently an instructor at Pellissippi State Community College and has worked at Roane State and Walter’s State Community College.

His education includes classical guitar study at Radford University, jazz and world studies at Middlesex Polytechnic in London, and a bachelor and masters degree in jazz performance from the University of Tennessee. Chad can be seen performing with various jazz groups around town and musicals at the Clarence Brown Theatre.

Barry Robertson: 567-6955

Barry has been the head piano tuner and technician for Heritage Piano since 1993 and has been a Registered Piano Technician (RPT) member of the Piano Technicians Guild for over 30 years.

During the early 1980's, Barry was the concert tuner and head technician for the University of Tennessee School of Music. In addition to providing in-home piano tuning services for Heritage customers, Barry also maintains the pianos of a select clientele of churches, schools, professional musicians, teachers and private owners in the metro Knoxville area.

Barry is able to understand the performance requirements of both the high quality pianos he services and the piano owner. He transforms the oftentimes esoteric wants, desires, and expectations of the piano owner into the tangible and measurable results of maximum playability and beautiful tone quality.


Matt Coker: 637-2663

Upon graduation from the University of Tennessee’s School of Music, Matt enrolled in a specialized trade school for two years of intensive study delving into the intriguing world of piano technology.

As a trained pianist, Matt understands piano technology from a musical point of view first, scientifically second. Ensuring work of the highest quality is the goal for each piano serviced. From prepping pianos in the showroom of Heritage Piano and Organ Co., to tuning for visiting artists at the Tennessee Theatre and Bijou Theatres, Matt shows an uncompromising standard for piano service.
